App developers are using this language because this is an unique language for app development. This language needs an external IDE software to make code structure. So, we can say that XML is only for app development, nothing else. 

JAVA :-

Inside app development you can create basic layout with XML but that layout will not have any functionality with user. Java is a programming language, means it creates functionality with user and java can make an application workable. 

In other words JAVA is the brain of the application and XML is the body of application. without java you cannot make app workable.

Android Studio :-

As you know every small and big business require internet access, so they can provide service through internet, and it will never stop. That's why Google is providing it's own software to create application to run on google Play Store. It is open source freely available for everyone, means anyone can use this software to create application. 

To run this software your computer should have minimum 4GB ram, because it is a big software, and it takes big space in computer to run.
